Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 28 April 2026
This page explains how Officers using the Recce Net mobile app can request that their account be closed and their personal data deleted. It satisfies Google Play's requirement to provide an account-deletion route that is reachable without re-installing the app.
What gets deleted
- Your authentication credentials (email, password hash).
- Your profile information (full name, officer ID, phone number, role, profile photo).
- Your verification documents.
- Your push-notification device tokens.
- Your saved vehicle compositions.
- Voice notes, draft assessments and other content not yet attached to a finalised operational record.
What may be retained
Recce Net is a business-to-business product licensed to your employer (a registered security company). Operational records already submitted as part of an employer-owned reconnaissance (venue assessments, route plans, threat observations, photographs taken during a recce, incident logs, shift handovers and post-event debriefs) belong to your employer under our data-processing agreement and may be retained by your employer in line with their own retention policy and any applicable legal obligations.
Where retention is required, your personal identifiers are anonymised wherever practical. Audit logs required by law are kept for the periods specified by the applicable legislation (typically up to 7 years for UK security-industry record keeping).
Option 1 — In-app deletion (preferred)
- Open the Recce Net app and sign in.
- Open the app drawer (top-left menu) → Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm by re-entering your password. Deletion is processed within 30 days, with most data removed within 72 hours.
Option 2 — By email (works if you no longer have the app)
If you have already uninstalled the app, lost access to your device, or otherwise cannot complete the in-app flow, send an email request to:
Include the following so we can locate and verify your account:
- The email address you used to sign in to Recce Net.
- The full name on your officer profile.
- The name of the security company (your employer) that licensed Recce Net to you.
- A statement requesting deletion of your account and associated personal data.
For your security, we may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing the request (for example, by replying from a previously-registered email address or confirming details only the account holder would know).
Timing
- We acknowledge requests within 5 working days.
- Personal data eligible for deletion is removed within 30 days of verification.
- Encrypted backups are purged on their normal rotation schedule (no later than 90 days).
Your rights under UK GDPR
In addition to deletion, you may also request access to, correction of, restriction on, portability of, or objection to processing of your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your request, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
